Even if you set the tether distance to 1000+ ect, in the original Ark at least, non dedicated is still somewhat impossible if you want to do any caves as it breaks the tether no matter the distance. This can cause game crashes and other issues. You can change the distance in non dedicated settings screen. The slider goes to 3x but you can type a number in the box next to it to override. Be warned though anything more than 5 or 6x will make a decent rig run crap. If u have a good pc just run a dedicated seperatly on it. But how far can i go i need 300 or 500.
