Usually when an over torque fault occurs this is because the globe is taking more effort than usual to rotate. There can be a few causes for this, main one being the LR hasn't been cleaned in a while allowing enough litter to accumulate on the top of the base. This results in the globe having to rub against the litter causing excessive drag.
I finally ordered a completely new pinch detector and DFI kit. I changed it all out, it was working great for about a month. Now these past few days I am back to seeing the pinch detector alerts. I absolutely despise having to open the litter robot and have probably about a good 10x now. I’ve had the litter robot 3 for 3-4 years now.

Litter Robot owner here -- Have had two litter robots and I think a recent batch of circuits is faulty. First one had no trouble with DFI for years; second one I bought refurbished and DFI went in 2 months. I replaced the DFI on first one, that lasted only 2 months. If Whisker does not get on top of this, they will lose their audience.I had the same thought. Mine crapped out right about the same time as all these other posts started flooding in. On the bright side, I replaced my 3 with the 4, and so far it's a lot nicer. Easier to clean, easier to change the bag, quieter.
