Couldn't say one shoots better than the other. I'd suspect with the heavier barrel the CTR would do better for longer strings of fire vs the Lite as the barrel gets hotter. Haven't tested that, so just a theory. The Lite does have noticeably more felt recoil being 2 lbs lighter than my CTR setup.

To me the RUGER Scout rifle is VERY "rugged", an excellent, proven Mauser type action with an accurate 5R barrel.mountains of central PA. I like rugers but this isnt much af a comparison. The 2 are on different levels. The tikka is a much nicer, smoother and more accurate rifle out of the box. The trigger on the tikka is one of the nicest factory triggers out there too. Mine shoots factory FGMM 175s at 2530 while my 5R shot at 2500fps. The 6.5 tikka barrels are slow but accurate as hell and thats what matters. The 5R 20” will have a little more weight to tame recoil. The tikka is lighter and shooting heavies will be a little stouter.

What I'm looking at is the Ruger American Magpul Hunter stock which I can find for $260 pre-order with the bottom metal and free shipping. This is opposite the KRG Bravo for a Tikka T3x that comes in at $390 without free shipping. So right around $150.

First the Ruger 300 WM): This rifle needed both a trigger job and a bedding job to get it to shoot to my satisfaction. My A-bolts (a 7-08 and 325 WSM) both needed bedding jobs to shoot 1" - <1".Ruger has a savage style barrel nut to set head space, Tikka is spaced off the shoulder with no nut. Ruger uses two V-Blocks for bedding, Tikka uses a recoil lug in the stock that engages a groove in the action.
