Surgery shelf exam reddit. Things To Know About Surgery shelf exam reddit.

Uworld added a TON of surgery questions this year so I think Uworld surgery + relevant IM parts will be more than enough. I did UWorld Surgery and AMBOSS surgery and scored in honors range (>75% national average). After having done UWorld IM questions for IM, I can say those would be helpful for the surgery shelf as well. Use AMBOSS surgery questions first, before UWORLD, if you want your main source of learning to be questions and explanations. Then follow it up with UWORLD surgery, GI, and pulm critical care. Sprinkle some reading inbetween with a source of your choice and you are good to go. Best of luck. Hantis22. It depends on which shelf, honestly, since UWorld is targeted at the Step 2 CK and the shelf exams go into more detail on certain topics. Personally, I didn't think UWorld covered nearly enough for things like FM, Neuro. For IM it was helpful but only using QBanks to study is pretty mentally draining after a long day on the wards.

The surgery shelf is very broad and pretty damn challenging. Lots of people fail it because they think they will get exposed to enough just through clinical work, which just isn't possible.
