The coating is over a stainless steel pistol so it should be about impervious to anything but the harshest use. It has a nice trigger with no holes in it that is crisp and clean.

You'd probably be satisfied with a Dan Wesson or even with a Springfield or Kimber to an extend if your purpose is to go out a great time at the range couple of times a year. I'd just say put out the list of things you want to do with the pistol then look for the right tool for the job. You'll quickly gravitate towards a Wilson.
