Ship 3322 (MSN 1627) was the first new Airbus A330-300 aircraft purchased by Delta following the 2008 merger with Northwest Airlines, and one of ten new A330-300s scheduled to enter Delta's fleet by 2017. The new A330-300s are 15 to 25 percent more fuel efficient per seat than the Boeing 767-300s and Boeing 747-400s they replaced.
