If it's only leaking while it's RUNNING AT the tank, it's most likely your return line and/or hose clamp. Loosen the back bolts and remove the front to tilt the tank forward so you can inspect. My bet is it's a hose clamp at the fuel pump. I also made the short return like Novak suggests. New Evap Charcoal Canister from AC Delco. Bottom port is TANK input and connected to the line coming off top of the check valve. Top input is Purge and is connected to my air filter. Purge signal line coming from bottom of air filter. If you used a mechanical fuel pump. Then it would have to be one for a SBC. The old Jeep's with carbs used a mechanical pump that wouldn't fit on a SBC. When running at idle the pressure jumps to 80 psi, oscillating between 75 and 85. Disconnecting the vacuum line to the regulator has no effect on the pressure. The top one goes to the return line. The return line connects to the extra nipple in the sending unit on the top of the gas tank. The lower outflow line on the filler goes to the carb. It is not uncommon to hear of guys removing the return line during a mod but in the end the line always needs to be restored in order for the engine to run properly.1324 posts · Joined 2010. #2 · Jun 14, 2011.
