Apr 1, 2013 · here are some of the pro's and con's between 12v and 24v. -24v needs two batteries which concludes to the extra weight and less space left, but you do have more power for the stronger currents. -12v is only one battery and only one battery to charge. Just keep in mind that all that gap filling adds up to weight increase. A little putty/glue on the cove, screw and clamp and your done. Either way works and is plenty substantial for a skiff build. But my $.02 for what it's worth: the darker the hull, the harder to keep clean and the easier to scratch (or show scratches and marks). That said, a black hull when it's all clean and waxed is just beautiful.
