Jan 30, 2023 · Hello, NVIDIA has monopoly for ML on GPUs, but things are changing (unfortunately, very slowly!). New cards from AMD have got impressive performance, good price and 16 GB of VRAM. They lack of Tensor Cores, but overall are good choice for most of the games and pro software. In case of ML, NVIDIA is number one, but I hope this will change soon.

Even windows does not always send out better graphics updates. Driver update apps may be OK, but they may also install tracking and other malware. I would not update drivers willy-nilly unless I had a problem or a new game that might need it. Then, I would only download the update directly from nvidia.
