If Supercell is forcing players to build strong armies, might as well move up to at least champion. Rough estimate is I farm about 2-4 mil in resources a day since I went to th11. Farming Army - Without Super Troops - My farming army before break and immediately after were 100+ Goblins, ~10 Giants, ~10 Wizards, rest archers; and CC troops 1 Pekka, 2 wizards, 2 archers. You will get bored of looking for th10 fairly quickly. So you will have to hit th11-13 to push higher.
