Also, if you can, pick them up and carry them to someplace safe before taming. I recommend ruins where you can throw down a quick gate or spike wall to seal the entrances.
Nope. Creatures without "wild" tag on their name plate are not tamable, and this is true for most cave creatures. If a dino is higher level than usual, then they are untameable. Tested it, they only eat cake. Put the cake in the inventory => they eat, put the cake in the trough, they eat. But i noticed some things: The veggie cake has a 15s cooldown on use, which applys also if its in the trough, so when you have multiple snails then only one can eat every 15s, after that the same or another can eat with another 15s cooldown.
