Before you do anything else, you should run 12V directly to the fan to make sure its working properly. If the fan is good and the fuse is not ... Find a multi-meter. Check to make sure that your battery has 12V~ at the terminals. The solenoid is located between the airbox and battery underneath the seat. It has two large wires (one coming directly from the battery) and two small wires connected to it. The large wire connected directly to the battery should have 12V~ all the time.

I purchase a 1999 Kawasaki KVF400 Prairie most of it is in good condition. The main problem that I am having is with the reverse. When I start the ATV I can engage the reverse first (R-light comes on) give it the gas but will not move. If i give it throttle very slowly, it will rev up and run good, but will not run with fast advance of throttle from idle. Been through carb several times and even put different carb on it.Once it is warmed up there is a popping sound from one of the carbs between idle and 1/4 throttle. 1) I have checked the air filter/air box (no issues) and there is clean air comming in (I actually drilled a couple 1/2 holes in the airbox) 2) The idle adjustment screw is maxed (I heard there were problems with the choke spring) 3) …2002 Prairie 300 4x4 - the starter button stopped working.
