The VDC & Slip lights were still on. Later while driving to Dallas with the cruise control on - I experienced the same sudden single 'bucking' event again - and then I continued to drive not using the cruise. On my return home from Dallas, the lights were off at the start of my trip.

After first sharp right turn, Slip dash light came on. Self-resetting did not occur while driving in straight line. Local Nissan dealer offered to "reload lost data" for $120.VDC off light and slip light. I have a 2011 Nissan Frontier V6 4.0 liter. The check engine light is on and the other two lights pip on periodically. When the VDC and slip lights come on my truck revs itself up and down but won't go over 2k rpm even pushing the gas. Dealer said it was throwing a steering angle sensor code so they replaced the battery and the sensor. They didn't have a clue how to reset the VDC Slip warning so I have been trying to do it myself. Last night on freeway, I noticed a lost of power at 75 mph then it regained and all was well. This morning I got the same surge at around 45 and all 3 lights came on...SES, Slip and VDC. This will indeed cause the stalling issue you are seeing. The P0420 code means there is an issuie with the catalytic converter on bank 1. This can cause stalling, but in most cases won't.
The simplest thing to do is to take it back to the dealer. My 2008 Xterra had the VDC/slip light on when it was delivered. Just took it back the next day and they fixed it. Not really sure what the problem was. They said the steering angle detector (or something like that) had to be re-adjusted and the computer had to be reset.
Here is what worked on mine: 1. turned off the car. 2. disconnected "-" battery terminal. 3. connected the terminal back on. 4. started the ignition. 5. drove in the straight line for about 100 m. 6. remember no reverse just "d" and drive in a straight line.

What we do in life.....All sorts of stuff.But from what I've read the VDC/Slip light can illuminate and mine did. I have had the slip light coming on and off for years. Finally, the ABS light came on as well. I took it to Nissan to have the code scanned (free), and he told me that a pressure sensor was bad and that the engine wiring harness was bad related to the passenger wheel speed sensor. They quoted me $497 to fix those items.
