Why the Afton family ruined the lore (My opinion) Hello there, today I wanted to talk about something I've rolled around in my head for a while, and that is, the significance of the Afton family, or rather, why they needed to be in the lore in the first place. I'll try to make this a quick read so none of you get bored, so let's just jump into it.
From 1982 up until mid-1985, William Afton was fat and flushed with health. He has glassy, dead eyes and fair skin with a ruddy complexion. In 1987, William Afton was tall and gaunt. His skin was sallow and saggy and he had deep bags under his sunken eyes. He also had poorly shaven face and his eyes looked a little unfocused.
The reason why Calypso is there is because she was adopted by William, Clara is her adoptive mother and she is technically an Afton. So I think that any Five Nights at Freddy's fan with a passing interest in the lore has seen at least a few theories on this scene.
