The B58 still sounds really great and has a larger turbo from factory, and a better intercooler system among other big improvements. I upgraded from an N55 to a B58 but my N55 really kicked ass.

He was one of the very first guys to really start pushing this platform and cemented how capable the B58 is. Pretty impressive, 100-200 KMH in 4.36 seconds on a stock motor with the DCT swap.

Engine swaps are not as simple as they used to be for your grandpa, mostly due to wiring harnesses and modules. I don't know what the driving conditions are where you are but a 330i should be more than sufficient. Learn to love what you have or sell the car for a 340i or M3.
Stock B58 Flywheel wont fit, it'll rub against the starter. Therefor you need to buy an N57 flywheel, luckily these can be found cheap on eBay ($50-$100 from overseas, or more expensive in the US from scrapyards, $100-$200). The B58 will be more reliable and require less maintenance than the S58. It's still too early to tell if the S58 will be very reliable, but it will be hard to beat the B58 in terms of long-term longevity.I would say buy the post 2015 n20 and have your PWG turbo installed on the EWG motor. Also whatever electronics/sensors that may be different from your 2012 motor moved over to the new motor. That way you're only paying the mechanic to mess with mechanical stuff, no wiring and electronics to mess with. That's my ¢.02.
B58 is better and reliable engine but if you've already spent a tonne of money building up a single turbo N54, sorting out all the failure points, would probably be a better idea to stick to the N54. Pushing well over 700hp+, not sure how long a stock block will last, might need a built/Forged engine, which will mean big bucks unless you can do ...
