On my Gen4, I've had two mag catches and springs replaced due to excessive wear of the catch and the notches in the mags. Mags would fall out upon firing the gun.
The unloaded original Glock 30 weighed 24 ounces on my scale. So, oddly enough, did the Glock 30SF—“Short Frame”—(front to back) version with the same wide slide. The frame on the 30SF and 30S are the same. The 30S uses the Glock 36 slide on the 30SF frame. If you are getting it to use as a range toy then get the 30SF. The heavier slide makes it more comfortable to shoot. If you are getting it to carry get the 30S. The slide is lighter, thinner and much easier to carry.

Also, as far as a 30S/30SF comparison; seeing as the 30SF has a heavier slide, I would imagine it would have slightly less perceived recoil and SLIGHTLY less muzzle rise, allowing for slightly faster follow-up shot front sight acquisition.
