The OD gear was only .87 not .65ish. In a jeep it was the best of what Jeep did in 2012 and it has a manual mode that locks it what top gear you set it at when you use the tap. That would be an easy spot to drill a hole and run wire through IMO. I put a layer of JB weld on the outside of the fitting for extra strength. Do not use a wrench on the adapter fitting to tighten the filter cap.
