The heavier Meanstreak spring is only from the 2002 & 2003 model years VN1500P1 and VN1500P2. The stock spring in your 1600 is same part number as in my 2004 1500 and up. The clutch spring thickness of the MS P2 spring is more than your/my stock spring, and the Barnett spring thickness is more than MS spring.

If your 1500 vulcan won't start... It's not the sidestand switch, if it won't start. It just won't run with sidestand "down" and in gear, with the clutch out. So here's the troubleshoot. First check the battery voltage. It should be 12.5 or more.
