There is plenty of headroom in either, but it seemed as if there was more leg room. Not sure if there actually was or not.If you have a modified engine with more torque, higher gearing is possible, but don't think that lower revs on their own will help. To answer the original question, even the most worn out Bug engines seem to hold together at 55-60mph, so that's around 3000rpm. 2800-3300 on street. 3100-3500 highway.
