Grim Dawn has an atmosphere that is a lot more like Diablo 1 (and also close to D2), it has closer spawns, it has factions. It also has additional features on top of TQ/IT (mainly the Devotions check the Grim Dawn site for tons of info) and has lots of additional faction gear -- like grenades-throwables, special potions, and special armor/weapons.
